John Session #6 -Raising Lazarus and Coming to Jerusalem

The raising of Lazarus from the dead is the climax of the signs Jesus gives to demonstrate that he is the Son of God, and it’s a prelude to his display of power at his own resurrection. However, the threat of death hangs over this chapter. Some of Jesus’ countrymen have tried multiple times to stone him for blasphemy, because he has claimed to be God (8:57–59; 10:29–33, 39). Bethany is near Jerusalem, and even Jesus’ disciples know how dangerous it will be for him to go there. (video segment is 9 minutes)
